Do you remember

When I first asked you out?

And you said: “No.” But, then you said: “wait.”

And instead of shooting me down for real

you wanted to know

what I had planned.

You slid your Ray Bans down your nose with your index finger.

And asked in your sly Bronx, New York accent:

“So, what did choo want to doo?”

I told you that we could go eat a bagel,

visualize some art,

And possibly

take a walk

down

to the

Brooklyn Bridge…

And, if you digged me then…

“Wait!” You exclaimed.
